Voice Activated Alarm Clock
Are you an owl or a lark? Do you spring out of bed each morning full of life and ready to start the day, or do you have to haul yourself away from your bed feeling tired and cranky? If you are a deep sleeper like me, you will know that your choice of alarm clock is a very important factor in your life. One of the newest types of alarm is the voice activated alarm clock and here is some information about three of the newest models currently on offer in stores.
The iTalk voice activated alarm clock allows you to set up the time and the alarm just by speaking to it in English. In addition, you can tell it to ‘snooze’ and even ask it the date, without having to move from your comfortable sleeping position. This voice activated alarm clock works on Timeset Voice technology and it needs no special input from you to allow it to understand your voice. The iTalk is guaranteed to understand any English spoken in a normal way.
Another voice activated alarm clock, which has only just appeared on the market, is the Moshi Voice Control Travel Alarm Clock. This model allows you to use any one of nine voice control commands, thus allowing you to set the alarm, the snooze button, or the time by voice and you can also ask it what the current temperature is! It uses a trade-marked system called, Technology That Listens, so it will recognize your voice commands without any special setup. The Moshi voice activated alarm clock fits into the palm of the hand and is a useful traveling clock when you do not want to rely on the hotel alarm.
Finally, we have the very latest type of voice activated alarm clock from Accenda – the Sunshine Voice Activated Alarm Clock. This model is claimed to have the most advanced speech recognition technology of all currently available voice activated alarm clock devices. Its advantage over other brand models is that it can be trained in a number of different languages and not just English.
Voice control technology and the voice activated alarm clock may seem like pointless novelties to some people, but it really is more convenient to ask your alarm clock what time it is when you are in the bathroom getting ready. Furthermore, the problem of understanding exactly how to program an alarm clock has been completely solved by the advent of the voice activated alarm clock and I, for one, am grateful for that!
In particular, I can also see how a voice activated alarm clock would be a great help to people who have limited use of their hands, for example arthritis sufferers, because they would not have to deal with impossibly small or fiddly buttons. And I have no doubt at all that voice activated alarm clocks are just the first of a whole new generation of voice activated home appliances, which will be of equal benefit to the many people who have limited mobility and to all of us who have ever struggled to understand programming instructions!
